Trainings for this few weeks will be optional for you guys.

I can understand that there you guys are busy with projects, ICA's other school related stuffs.
Furthurmore some of you will be having your exams really soon. Studying is a priority, lets give ourselves a break so that we can focus on our studies.

For those who still want to train, feel free to train. With IVP around the corner, we cant afford to lose to other teams. If you can, do some self trainings at your own time. It really helps. But dont let this be a reason for you not to study.

Compulsory training will only be on saturday. Rest are optional, until furthur notice. Please take note.

NWCC

Hey guys. Our girls will be going for their National Womens Canoeing Championships this saturday and sunday and it will be compulsory for all of us to come down and support them. I mean it. We cant be sitting ducks at home or not doing anything to support them. We as a team should support one another, our strength is built purely on this !

The other thing is that just because we are supporting them, dosent mean we cant train right?
So we have decided some plans for this weekends.

Saturday trainings will be at 7.15 AM and it will be optional for you guys. I highly encourage for all of you to come down as we need to train. We will end training around 8.30-8.45. So please be at seletar at by 7.15 ! We will start training straight away.

For those of you who cant come down, please be at macritchie reservoir by 8.15AM. This is compulsory, NOT OPTIONAL. Help out our girls to carry their boats and everything. Dont let them do all the work, they are racing. Help them out as much as you can.

So, let me break down again the plan;

Saturday
Time: 7.15 am
Venue: Seletar reservoir
Ending time: 8.15-8.30

***peeps who dnt train, report at macrithie at 8.15am
If there are any last min changes, i will let you guys know.

So now, lets wish all of our girls the best !! Push hard guys ! We know you can make us proud.
NYP KAYAKING YOOOSHHH !

Team Nyp Sprint kayaing FTW

IVP
Last year we lost the overall woman champion by 1 point and this 1 point can be salvage by anyone of you here
be it are you participating this year IVP or not ultimately in the long run this team needs you and you need the team . Our girls team have always been strong this time and last year was just a trip.
This trip is a blessing in disguise
This trip has led us to realize that other schools have raise their bench
sometimes is this trip that will prevent a fall.
Same goes for the overall man champion we will kick asses this year !!

Before you come training ask yourself what you want to achieve from it and not
just row for the sake of rowing .
Find a motivation point
For team ?
For yourself?
For your partner?
For the adrenaline?
For the medals?
FOR THE WIN?

This is your time !
This is your turn!
Nyp sprint kayaking future depend on every one of you here
eventually we the senior will leave the team some for army some for work
How much this team can progress depends on how you act now
how you act now lay a very important foundation that.

Treat every training like a competition like and treat every competition like your training.
REMEBER
The more you sweat during peace time the lesser you will bleed during the war

"When things go wrong as they sometimes will
When the road you're trudging seems all up hill.
When funds are low and the debts are high.
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh.
When care is pressing you down a bit.
Rest, if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns.
As everyone of us sometimes learns.
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out:

Don't give up though the pace seems slow -
You may succeed with another blow.
Success is failure turned inside out -
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt.
And you never can tell how close you are.
It may be near when it seems so far:
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit
It's when things seem worst that you must not
QUIT.

Winning isn't everything, but the will to win is everything.

Saturday training

Hi guys,

Seems like all of you are getting bonded with each other, that's good :D
From today's training, i can see that you guys are still playing around. I agree that the relays are fun and enjoying but at the same time, you guys need to know that you all are still training. You need to be discipline at the same time. No taking out of shirts during training. If i see anyone who does this, the whole team will have to suffer. One for all, all for one.

Alright there will be sea training this Saturday. If you guys know how to get there, report there by 9.15AM. Those who dont, meet at khatib MRT station by 8.50am. Seniors will be there to pick you guys up. See you guys there then.

Sunday, May 31, 2009

Hello team!

I hope you guys had fun on Saturday's sea training. There's more to come in the coming months! All of you only get to train once a week on sea so make use of all the time you have in the waters. Try to apply the strokes we've taught you in air paddling while rowing. You'll feel weird at first but once you get the feel, it'll come naturally.

Foundation is very important in this sport. With good technique and fitness, you'll be able to paddle fast. Of course not forgetting, determination. During every training, put in your 100% effort into it.

Please do your own self training at home too. Be it running, gymming or air paddling.

In this team, we not only train hard but we also study hard.
All the ICAs, common test are coming up. Please study hard for your tests too =)

I'll see you guys on Monday!

Regards,
Ai Xing

Congrats to all who have made it this far. This is the first stepping stone for you guys, theres still a long way to go. Dont be complacent. Even though you have made it we are still keeping an eye on you guys. Train harder, maintain your discipline and most importantly, your mentality. Even though some of you have not reach the level yet, we can see that you put in a lot of effort to make it into the team. Well done.
